"If the success or failure of this planet and of human beings depended on how I am and what I do, how would I be? What would I do?" -- Buckminster Fuller

This is a community of people who have one thing in common -- we agree that the world is in some serious need of improvement, and we're ready and willing to chip in our share.

We take an engineering approach, not an ideological approach. We don't care if you share our beliefs or reasons for wanting to fix the world, as long as you're willing to help.

We identify some of the world's most urgent problems as being:

  1. War.

  2. Impending environmental crisis.

  3. Ignorance. People don't know that the world needs to be fixed, or that there are concrete ways for them to help.

  4. Apathy. People concern themselves only with personal or local problems rather than with global problems. We're taught that we can't make a difference, so why bother trying anyway?

  5. Fear. People are taught to fear standing up for change; that we will be crushed by those in power if we rock the boat. Not only are we afraid to change things, we're often afraid to trust others, be ourselves, or even be happy! This hinders our personal growth, and our ability to reach out to others.

  6. Social patterns of inequality that reinforce ignorance, apathy, and fear. We have been taught that this state is the norm and that there's nothing we can do about it.

The three main thrusts of our approach are self-improvement, education and politics. We will work to overcome our own ignorance, apathy, and fear. We will spread the knowledge that change is possible, and help people to overcome their own ignorance, apathy, and fear. We will grow in numbers. We will engage in political activism on both the local and global scale to help break down the institutions that promote war, harm to the environment, and the reinforcement of ignorance, apathy, and fear.

It won't be easy to fix these things, but if each of us does our part, we can make a lot of headway in just one or two generations. What are you waiting for? Let's get to it!
